Mustangs Youth Football
Program Description
Reisterstown Mustangs Youth Football is a member program of the Reisterstown Area Recreation Council, and is based in Reisterstown, Maryland. Boys and girls from the age of 5 through 14* -- whatever their age is on August 1st of the current year -- can participate in our tackle football teams. Our registrations start in April, our practices start in late July/early August, and our games and playoffs run from September through mid-November. We are a program that fully supports the USA Football Heads Up training program.
* We field teams for players ages 5-13. A limited number of 14 year olds are eligible to play, provided they do not turn 15 during the season.

Parent Volunteering
So you've signed your kid up for football, now it's time to put on your best spirit wear, grab a cool drink from the concession stand, and relax in the stands waiting for the game to start, right?
Maybe not. In addition to the volunteer coaches and team admins who work so hard to make your child's experience great, there's a place for you - the parent - in all of this too!
On game day, parent volunteers are needed for a variety of jobs that keep the game running smoothly, ensure fairness, and keep the kids cool and energized. Consider volunteering for one of these jobs at your child's next game:
Spotter - Help to make sure that everyone gets in the game, and make sure the other team is playing fairly as well!
Chain Gang - Work directly with the referees to keep track of where the ball is on the field and what down it is
Snacks/Gatorade - Take turns bringing snacks and Gatorade to help the players recover after all that hard work on the field!
PRO TIP: Game day volunteering on the field as a spotter or on the chain gang gets you the best view of the game in the house! Just remember not to yell at the players and refs while you're down there - things can get exciting!
In addition to game day volunteering, there are plenty of other opportunities to help out, such as planning homecoming or end of the the year activities, fundraising, or even volunteering to help out with coaching.
Youth football really is a team effort!
Did you know that all of our coaches and volunteers have taken mandatory training, such as USA Football Tackle Certification, Heat Illness Prevention, Concussions in Football, as well as a background check? We take your child's safety very seriously.
