Part of the beauty of Baltimore County's regional parks initiative is the preservation of valuable natural spaces and environmentally sensitive areas. Nearly all of the regional parks preserve vulnerable stream buffers and woodlands, and several feature tree-planting and forestation projects. A number of the parks offer nature trails that allow park visitors to experience and enjoy the natural environment first-hand. The natural and preserved areas within the parks help to support Baltimore County's important environmental initiatives. More than 2/3 of Baltimore County's land remains rural, and preservation of the rural character of our land - the farms, woods, and waterways- remains one of the cornerstones of planned growth and development.

Hannah More Park: This 63-acre park features Baltimore County's first Dog Park, 2 picnic Pavilions, Picnic Area, Sunshine Playground, Skateboard/ Rollerblade Skate Park, Lighted Ball Fields (3 ball diamonds, 2 athletic fields), Restrooms, Concert Bandshell,  and Sand Volleyball Court.

Picnic pavilions may be reserved by contacting the Reisterstown Recreation office at 410-887-1142. A single pavilion will seat up to 50 people and parties for this site are limited to 100 or less. Reservations for the calendar year may be made after January 1^st of that year. There is no electricity or water for pavilion use. Picnic tables (not in pavilions) on the grounds are available on a first-come, first served basis. Moon bounces, commercial rides & sound systems, pony & horse rides are not permitted. No alcohol allowed. There are no grills supplied but grills may be brought in. There is a red receptacle for ashes. Pets must be leashed at all times and waste must be removed by owner/handler.  See more Pavilion Rental rules and regulations.

Coming 2010:  HM Shelter Renovations. Due to Shelter construction in 2010, the Sunshine Park parking lot will NOT be available for rental parties for event parking. All other lots will be accessible on a first-come first-served basis. Parking on any driveway access is NOT allowed. Violators will be ticketed and/or towed.  Take Beltway exit 19 (I-795) north the Franklin Blvd. (exit 7). Take first exit (east) onto Franklin Blvd. Go through first traffic lights (Tarragon Road). Make felt turn onto Reisterstown Road (Rt. 140) at second light. Go through first light (Reisterstown Shopping Center & Franklin High School). Turn right at second light (Caraway Road) into Hannah More driveway. Bear right and follow driveway around right side of main building. Go through parking lot until stop sign. Playground and pavilions are straight ahead, up the hill. Make left at stop sign, bear right with driveway and make immediate right into playground parking lot. Do not enter or park in Dog Park access driveway to the right of the pavilions.
 

Reisterstown Regional Park: This park, located just off of I-795 near Reisterstown, offers lighted ball diamonds, lighted athletic fields, picnic pavilion, playground and a comfort station. Featuring the new Reisterstown Sportsplex.  The Sportsplex offers a regulation-sized indoor soccer field and a regulation-sized indoor ice rink.

Northwest Regional Park: Situated near the intersection of Lyons Mill and Deer Park Roads at the western edge of the Owings Mills Growth Area, this park features ball diamonds, athletic fields, picnic pavilions, paths and trails, a playground, a comfort station, and extensive wooded areas.

Meadowood Regional Park:  Meadowood is situated at the corner of Falls and Greenspring Valley Roads, at the entry way into the Greenspring Valley. Facilities available at the park included lighted and unlit athletic fields, picnic pavilions, a playground, a comfort station, and a paved path network. Revegetated buffer areas within the park help to protect both Deep Run and the Jones Falls.
 

Hannah More Skate Park:Completed in October, 2006 this skate facility features a mini-half pipe with spine, Grind box, Hip, Launch ramp with skate table, Grind Rail, Skate Bench, Manual, Grind Ledge, Drop-In Combo, Pyramid, and a quarter pipe, enclosed within a 12,800-square foot supervised area. Helmet, elbow- and knee-pads required at all times.

Cockeysville Skate Park: The street course facility features a variety of ramps, jumps, and grinding rails, enclosed within a fenced court. The skate park is supervised by Department of Recreation and Parks staff and have regular hours of operation that vary by season.

While there is no fee for use of the County's skatepark," skateboarders and roller bladers that wish to use the facilities must fill out a waiver form (if under 18, parents must sign) in front of a skate park staff at the park.

DIRECTIONS TO REISTERSTOWN FACILITIES

Directions to the facilities are based on drivers proceeding north on Rt. 795 (Northwest Expressway) from Rt. 695 (Baltimore Beltway) via Exit 19.
 

CEDARMERE ELEMENTARY SRC: 17 Nicodemus Road: Rt. 795 (Northwest Expressway) to Exit 7A, Franklin Blvd. East. Proceed on Franklin Blvd. heading East for approximately 1/2 mile to intersection with Reisterstown Rd., (Rt. 140). Turn right on Reisterstown Rd. heading South for 6/10 of a mile to flashing amber light. Turn right at flashing light; immediately bear to the extreme right fork (Nicodemus Rd) and, proceed for approximately 1/10 of a mile. School is on left side of road.
 

CHATSWORTH ELEMENTARY SRC: 222 New Avenue: Rt. 795 (Northwest Expressway) to Exit 9, traffic light at intersection of Rt. 140. Turn right at intersection and proceed East on Rt. 140 approximately 4/10 of a mile to Main St. (Traffic light). Turn right on Main St. and proceed South for approximately 3/10 of a mile to Chatsworth Ave. Turn left on Chatsworth Ave.  Turn right on New Ave.  School entrance and parking lot are on right hand side about 2/10 of a mile.
 

FRANKLIN ELEMENTARY SRC: 33 Cockeys Mill Road: Rt. 795 (Northwest Expressway) to Exit 9, traffic light at intersection of Rt. 140. Turn right at intersection and proceed East on Rt. 140 approximately 4/10 of a mile to Main St. (Traffic light). Turn right on Main St. and proceed South for approximately 4/10 of a mile to Cockeys Mill Rd. Turn right on Cockeys Mill Rd. and proceed approximately 1/10 of a mile to school on left.
 

FRANKLIN MIDDLE SCHOOL SRC: 10 Cockeys Mill Road:  Rt. 795 (Northwest Expressway) to Exit 9, traffic light at intersection of Rt. 140. Turn right at intersection and proceed East on Rt. 140 approximately 4/10 of a mile to Main St. (Traffic light). Turn right on Main St. and proceed South for approximately 4/10 of a mile to Cockeys Mill Rd. Turn right on Cockeys Mill Rd. School entrance and parking lot are immediately on right hand side.
 

FRANKLIN SENIOR HIGH SRC: 12000 Reisterstown Road: Rt. 795 (Northwest Expressway) to Exit 7A, Franklin Blvd. East. Proceed on Franklin Blvd. heading East for approximately 4/10 of a mile to Owings Court. Turn left on Owings Court and continue directly onto the school parking lot.
 

GLYNDON ELEMENTARY SRC: 445 Glyndon Drive: Rt. 795 (Northwest Expressway) to Exit 7A, Franklin Blvd. East. Proceed on Franklin Blvd. heading East for approximately 1/2 mile to intersection with Reisterstown Rd. (Rt. 140). Turn left on Reisterstown Rd. and proceed North for approximately 1-1/10 miles to Glyndon Drive. Turn right on Glyndon Drive and proceed approximately 1 mile to dead end. School is on the right.
 

HANNAH MORE PARK/ CENTER: 12035 Reisterstown Road:  Rt. 795 (Northwest Expressway) to Exit 7A, Franklin Blvd. East. Proceed on Franklin Blvd. heading East for approximately 1/2 mile to intersection with Reisterstown Rd. (Rt. 140). Turn left on Reisterstown Rd. and proceed North for approximately 4/10 of a mile to traffic light at intersection on Caraway Road and the Hannah More Complex driveway. Turn right into Hannah More Complex. Athletic fields are at the rear of the park.
 

REISTERSTOWN ELEMENTARY SRC: 223 Walgrove Road: Rt. 795 (Northwest Expressway) to Exit 7A, Franklin Blvd. East. Proceed on Franklin Blvd. heading East for approximately l mile to intersection with Reisterstown Rd. (Rt. 140). Turn left on Reisterstown Road and proceed North approximately 6/10 of a mile to Walgrove Rd. Turn right on Walgrove Rd. and proceed l-1/2 blocks to school on right side of road.
