Kathy Pillets (Director/Teacher)
Ms. Pillets has a B.A. degree in
Dance from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, cum laude with a certification in
Education. During the day, Ms. Pillets teaches Dance at Southwest Academy Middle School in Baltimore County. This is Ms. Pillets third year
as a teacher at the Ballet School of Glyndon and second year as director. Ms.
Pillets also teaches a modern and jazz course at Carroll Community College.
Rachel Stroud (Teacher)
Mrs. Stroud has been dancing for
more than 22 years. Most recently she taught ballet, tap, jazz and pointe for Joyful Motion Dance in Prince George’s County for seven years.
She had the opportunity to study with Kathy Ferguson and Dawn Barns and spent
one season with Aurora Dance Company in Columbia, Maryland. In Florida, she studied at the Pinellas County Center for the Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida and attended the summer dance
intensive program at Alvin Ailey American Dance
Theatre in New York City. Miss Rachel graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a BS in Community Health
Education and has worked as a Tobacco Health Educator for Baltimore City
Health Department and the American Lung Association of Maryland. Miss
Rachel recently had the joy of having a daughter and is now enjoying being a
stay at home mom.
Toni Amos (Teacher)
Ms. Amos is a senior at University of Maryland, Baltimore County and will be graduating in May
with a B.A. in Dance. Growing up, Ms. Amos, studied at the dance studio
“Mid-Atlantic Center for the Performing Arts.” There she participated in many
dance competitions and conventions. For high school, Ms. Amos attended Carver
Center for Arts and Technology where she studied dance as well. This is Ms.
Amos second year teaching at the Ballet School of Glyndon.
Amy Janney (Teacher)
Amy Janney
has recently moved back to the Baltimore area after working for several years
at Steps on Broadway Dance Studio in New York City. In addition to her primary
role In addition to her primary role as an administrator and teacher for the
School at Steps, the resident youth dance program, she was also a Studio
Manager. Prior to her time in New York, Amy was Director at the
Ballet School of Glyndon for 3 years. Amy studied dance at Goucher College where she received her BA in
Education. She has also performed with the Baltimore County Youth
Ballet under the direction of Laura Dolid. Amy
currently works in downtown Baltimore for Citi
SmithBarney.
