    Kathy Pillets Albert (Co-Director/Teacher)

Ms. Kathy has a B.A. in Dance from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, cum laude with a certification in Education. Ms. Kathy is a Dance Teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools. She has taught at Southwest Academy and Loch Raven High. This year, she will be teaching at Windsor Mill Middle School. Ms. Kathy has been dancing for over 23 years and has studied under numerous Maryland teachers. Along with teaching at BSG, she currently teaches a modern and jazz course at Carroll Community College in the fall and spring semesters. Ms. Kathy has also taught at Patty Neivert School of Dance in Westminster, Oldfield School in Glencoe, and guest choreographed at Crokran Middle School in Anne Arundel Public Schools. This is Ms. Kathy fifth year as a teacher at the Ballet School of Glyndon and fourth year as co-director.

 

 

     Rachel Stroud (Co-Director/Teacher)

Ms. Rachel joined the BSG staff as a teacher in Fall of 2007, and with great excitement, became co-director in Fall of 2008. She has been dancing for more than 24 years.  Prior to BSG, she taught ballet, tap, jazz and pointe for Joyful Motion Dance in Prince George’s County for seven years. Ms. Rachel has studied with several local Maryland teachers and spent one season with Aurora Dance Company in Columbia, Maryland. Ms. Rachel also had the privilege of attending the Pinellas County Center for the Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida, as well as the summer dance intensive program at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York City.  Ms. Rachel graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a B.S. in Community Health Education.  Currently, Ms. Rachel enjoys balancing being at home with her two children and pursuing her love of dance with BSG.   

 

 

      Toni Amos (Assistant Director/Teacher)

Ms. Toni graduated Cum Laude in May 2008 from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a B.A. in Dance.  She has been dancing for the past 20 years.  From age 2 through age 15, she studied at the dance studio “Mid-Atlantic Center for the Performing Arts.” There she participated in many dance competitions and conventions. For high school, Ms. Toni attended Carver Center for Arts and Technology where she studied dance as well. Along with teaching, Ms. Toni currently performs with Deviated Theatre based in Rockville, MD under the direction of Kimmie Dobbs and Enoch Chan. This is Ms. Toni’s fourth year teaching at the Ballet School of Glyndon.

    Caitlyn Brill (Teacher)

Ms. Caitlyn is a fourth grade teacher at Reisterstown Elementary School. She attended the Ballet School of Glyndon for seven years, and has assisted the annual BSG recitals for the past 5 years. Ms. Caitlyn went to Salisbury University where she took several dance courses and minored in Creative Arts, which allowed her to incorporate dance and drama into her education studies. Ms. Caitlyn is very excited to combine her passion for teaching and dance!

 

      Mika Royster (Teacher)

 

 

Ms. Mika started dancing at the age of 8 with The Baltimore County Youth Ballet under the direction of Laura Dolid. She has performed various roles in productions such as The Nutcracker, Coppellia, A Midsummer Nights Dream, and Cinderella with The BCYB as both a corp and soloist performer. Mika graduated from The Carver Center for Arts and Technology in 2003 as a Dance major where she was a member of The Inertia Dance Company. At The Community College of Baltimore County, Mika studied Ballet, Modern, and Afro Caribbean Dance and performed with the CCBC dance company. Mika apprenticed with The Clancy Works Dance Company under the direction of Adrienne Clancy in 2007. This is Ms. Mika’s second year teaching at the Ballet School of Glyndon. 

 

 

 

     Katie Schiaffino (Teacher)

Ms. Katie earned a BA in Dance and Certificate in Dance Education from UMBC. She has been dancing since age three, studying mainly with Towson University’s Children’s Dance Division. She has prior experience teaching for Patty Neivert School of Dance in Westminster, Maryland, and Summer Camp at Carroll Community College.  Ms. Katie currently performs with Deviated Theatre based in Rockville, MD under the direction Kimmie Dobbs and Enoch Chan. This is Ms. Katie’s third year teaching at the Ballet School of Glyndon.
