Q: Are parents and siblings allowed to wait in the hallway or any part of the building?

A: At the last Steering Committee Meeting of the 2005-2006 school year, parents voted that our program would be a “drop off/pick up only” program. This means that

parents are not allowed to wait in the hallway of the school or any part of the building. We have tried our best to schedule classes back to back so that there isn’t any

wait time for students between classes. If your child is in a class that is 30 minutes long, you may sit in the room and watch as long as it isn’t distracting to the dancers in the class or the teacher. If the teacher asks you to leave, then you must follow the direction. In all of the classes that are grades four and below, there will be a demonstrator who will be available to help with changing shoes, taking your child to the restroom, walking your child to the next class, etc. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but please remember that the school administrators determine who can use their facilities and after several problems with hallway issues, we were forced to either change our policy or pay for someone to monitor the behavior in the school hallway. This was the solution that was decided by the parents who attended the meeting.

Q: If the class is longer then 30mins and I don’t feel comfortable with my daughter walking into the building

by herself, what do I do?

A: Of course you may walk your child into class and then come in to pick him/her up. When you are

picking your child up, please don’t enter the building until the class is over. For example, if your

child’s class is over at 5:30pm then please don’t come in to get her until 5:30pm. Classes will not end

early. Also, the teachers will not send your children outside after class if they saw you bring your

child in. All the teachers at the Ballet School of Glyndon know that it is very important to make sure

that dance class start and end on time and they will try to make sure they do.

Q: My daughter is in 2nd grade and is taking ballet and tap, she needs help putting on her shoes. Do I need

to come back in between the classes to help her?

A: No, you do not. In all of the classes that are grades four and below, there will be a demonstrator

who will be available to help with changing shoes, taking your child to the restroom, walking your child to the next class, etc.

Q: Are you required to attend the Registration Meeting/ Open House?

A: No, you are not, although we strongly recommend you attend because this gives you an

opportunity to meet the Chairperson, Co-Directors, & Teachers. You can also register your child for

dance classes at the meeting.

Q: For grades 1-12; how many rehearsals is my child allowed to miss?

A: You child is allowed to miss 2 rehearsals as long as they let either Tiffany or Kathy know ahead of

time. If your child misses 1 rehearsal without letting Tiffany or Kathy know then they are not in the

finale. If they miss more than 2 rehearsals despite informing us about it than you will not be

participating in the finale.

Q: Are you required to attend the Costume Meeting in February?

A: Yes, you are. This is the meeting that you will receive all your child’s costumes and directions on

alterations. Also, this gives you an opportunity to talk to the Costume Committee Chair in person if

you have any questions. If you can not attend for some reason then please let Tiffany or Kathy know.

Q: When do your costume alterations have to be completed by?

A: Everyone’s costumes have to be completed by April 16th -20th.

Q: I have a question about the alterations on my child’s costume. Who do I contact?

A: You contact the Costume Committee Chair who is Sharon Baldwin. Her number is on the

alternation direction sheet that you will receive with your costume.

Q: I am unable to do the costume alteration to my child’s costume; what do I do?

A: Contact the Costume Committee Chair (Sharon Baldwin) and she will be more then happy to help

you with them but you must contact her before February 23rd. Her number is on the alternation direction sheet that you will receive with your costume.
